Door-to-Door Evangelism

 

You probably want to see more and more people in

Cross County become followers of Jesus. You probably

want to obey Jesus by seeking to make disciples of people in Cross County. You are probably scared to death, though, to think of yourself in a conversation with someone where you are responsible for sharing the truth of Jesus with them. Don’t worry, you are not alone!

 

We all know we need to share our faith in Jesus with others, but having the courage and taking the initiative to do so is what almost all of us lack. We are inviting you to tackle your fears, develop some courage, and take the much needed initiative to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in your own community for six consecutive weeks. This period of weekly visitation is affectionately being called “WinOne.” You will want to be part of it.

 

When does WinOne begin again?

We are in the planning stages right now. Check back again a little later.

 

Where will we meet?

We will meet in the Student Room.

 

When does WinOne end?

Each evening we will be finished around 7:30pm, but the formal six-week emphasis will end.

 

What will we be doing?

You will be paired with 2-3 other people; your group will be given names and addresses of people WBC would like to reach out to and get to know better; and you will go to their homes to make a visit.

 

What will we do when we get to their home? I’ve never done this before. Are you going to train us in what to say or just send us out “cold turkey?”

Stop worrying! We are going to train you week by week in how to share the Gospel with people. We are also going to train you in how to initiate a spiritually-directed conversation with someone.

 

Will I be paired up with someone who knows what they are doing?

We will do our best to pair you up with someone who has done this before, or at least with someone who acts like they know what they are doing. We will be sensitive in how teams are formed.

 

Make a personal commitment to participate in WinOne. Your faith will grow. You will be challenged. You might help lead someone else into the kingdom of God. What better way is there to spend your Monday nights?
