Mission:Wynne

June 10-15, 2013

Sunday morning, May 19, during the Sunday School

hour (9:45-10:45am), all adult and youth Sunday School

classes will meet in the Activities Building for a large-group training and preparation time for Mission:Wynne. This will give your class (and whoever you are partnered with) the opportunity to make assignments and plans.

Here is an overview of what to expect during Mission:Wynne.

Kidz Camps – These will run June 10-13 (Monday through Thursday) throughout many neighborhoods in Wynne. Your Sunday School class will be assigned a specific location (for most, it will be the same location as last year) and you will gather neighborhood kids, play games, lead a Bible lesson, eat snacks, do a craft, and have a great time.  You will minister to kids and get to know families. Kidz Camp will run from roughly 6:00-7:30pm each evening. This provides a great avenue to connect with families who might not be connected to a church.

Prayerwalking – Our goal is to pray up and down every street in Wynne. In the process of praying, you will also have opportunities to share the Gospel with people you meet.  Prayerwalkers will meet at WBC each morning during Mission: Wynne (Monday – Thursday) to receive their assignments for the day. We believe the prayers for our city do make a difference.

Intentional Relationship Building – Mission:Wynne is a great week to consider who you can reach, whether it be a friend, neighbor, or co-worker.  Friday, June 14, would be a great time to invite someone over for a meal, to treat someone to lunch, or to enjoy a cup of coffee with someone you want to get to know better. . . for the sake of the Gospel.  Be intentional.  Be relational.  Mainly, we want you to identify someone you can minister to…and then do something about it!

Men’s Golf Tournament – This will take place Saturday, June 15, 8:00am, at Village Creek. Men, prayfully consider who you can invite to play a round of golf.  We like to say, “Our golf tournament is even for guys who don’t play golf!”  There is a great possibility that a guy who would not come to church with you (yet) WOULD come and play a round of golf with you.

Sunday Worship, June 16 – The Sunday following Mission:Wynne will be a great day to bring someone you met during the week to church with you. As you meet new people, invite them to WBC.  An invitation to attend church with you is a good form of outreach.

Vacation Bible School, June 24-28 – The dates for Mission:Wynne and VBS were flip-flopped this year for good reason.  Please consider how to bring the kids you meet through Kidz Camp to VBS at Wynne Baptist Church in July.  We would love to see 400 kids at VBS!

New Ideas – If you have an idea for how WBC might be able to reach out to our community during the week of Mission: Wynne, please let your idea be known to one of the staff members.
